The Blackmagic Video Assist 5 12G HDR is a professional monitor designed for monitoring and recording in all HD, Ultra HD, 2K, and 4K DCI formats! The ultra-bright 2500 nit 5-inch HDR monitor supports 3D LUT and features powerful tools that help accurately set focus, exposure, and framing. The built-in SD card recorder saves recordings in 10-bit 4:2:2 ProRes or DNx formats. All files are in standard formats, allowing you to start editing immediately.

The monitor's screen interface lets you adjust settings and access important functions such as a histogram, waveform, vectorscope, and many more tools. There is also a light on top of the monitor to indicate when it is on and recording. The monitor is powered by a 12V power adapter and has dual battery slots on the back to allow power from Sony L-series type batteries.

The Blackmagic Video Assist 5 12G records using a single high-speed UHS-II SD slot onto SDHC/XC memory cards. You can also use the USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port to record to an external drive. This port can also be used to configure and update the monitor. Videos are recorded using standard Apple ProRes (HQ, 422, LT, or Proxy) and Avid DNxHD and DNxHR codecs.
