The Allen & Heath PX:5 is a 4-channel DJ performance mixer that comes equipped with a wealth of professional DJ controls and tools such as the legendary Xone filter and an extensive effects processor that allows you to get ultra-creative using a range of reverbs, delays, flangers, distortions, and modulators. The PX:5 is equipped with an integrated USB soundcard which is ideal for digital DJs and performers as well as a send/return channel for your favourite FX processor and is perfect for club and bar installations as well as mobile and travelling DJs and makes an excellent addition to any home DJ setup.

The PX:5 comes with Allen & Heath’s legendary Xone filter offering high-pass, band-pass, and low-pass filtering options with controls for resonance and filter sweeps, all channels including the mic/aux and return channels can be routed to the filter so you can process any incoming signal allowing for some excellent sounding sweeps and effects. The FX section on the mixer comes complete with the Xone: Xcite suite, a new breed of FX tailored especially for performance-based DJs and offers a wide range of delays, reverbs, resonators, modulators, and flangers. The Xone PX:5 comes equipped with four main channels alongside an additional microphone/auxiliary channel, all of which can be routed to the filter of FX sections so you can mix with creativity and flair. Each channel has a 3-band EQ that lets you smoothly blend together frequencies while the intuitive layout is easy to navigate even for those unfamiliar to the Xone range. A 12 segment LED level meter next to each channel fader allows you to clearly see when you’re overloading the mixer with too loud a signal. At the top of the mixer, you can choose the input routing with phono, line, and USB options, as well as blend in your effects, return signal using the send FX control.

A compact display allows you to quickly select an effect as well as BPM and FX timing for dubby delays and synchronised stutters while decay and focus controls let you set the intensity of the effects and fade timing for time-based effects. You can combine the internal and external send/return effects together for even more advanced effects processing.

Directly integrated into the Xone:PX5 is a high-quality 24-bit/96kHz USB soundcard which is ideal for digital DJs and live performers. The soundcard fully supports DVS control over the Native Instruments Traktor Scratch Pro 2 DJ application, merely plug in your PC/Mac to the mixer via USB and make use of control vinyl or CDs for excellent control over the software as well as scratching and mixing your digital music collection. The crossfader comes with three selectable crossfader curves for blending or scratching with precision and can easily be replaced with the Innofader Pro 2 for an even greater crossfader performance.

On the rear of the unit, you’ll find a plethora of inputs and outputs. A 5-pin MIDI sync/out connection with a built-in MIDI clock engine lets the mixer send MIDI data to external hardware instruments like synthesisers and drum machines which can then be input to the mixer via a ¼-inch Jack connection; alternatively, you can send MIDI clock data via the USB connection. An X:Link port means you can connect a Xone:K series MIDI controller directly to the mixer for control of your DJ software, this means you do not need to plug the controller into your PC/Mac saving you a USB port for other bits of gear or interfaces.
